Couples Therapist
With over 13 years of clinical experience, I bring a depth of knowledge and understanding to my work with couples. My aim is to provide a reflective, inclusive, and engaging therapeutic space where partners can explore their experiences openly, understand longstanding patterns, and develop healthier ways of relating that honour both individual and shared needs. My work is grounded in Gestalt, which emphasises present-moment awareness, authentic dialogue, and curiosity about the patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and each other.
I believe that relationships are a powerful context for growth and healing. Many couples find themselves caught in recurring cycles of conflict, disconnection, or unmet needs. Through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic process, I help partners increase awareness of these patterns and develop new ways of connecting that foster trust, intimacy, compassion, and mutual understanding.
My approach is relational, experiential, and trauma-informed. I work actively with what emerges in the therapeutic space, helping couples explore their thoughts, emotions, bodily experiences, and interactions as they unfold. This enables meaningful insight and creates opportunities for change in real time.
Alongside my extensive clinical experience, I have undertaken additional training in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and anti-oppressive practice. These perspectives are integrated throughout my work, recognising the impact that culture, identity, power, privilege, discrimination, and systemic inequalities can have on individuals, relationships, and mental health. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, affirming, and responsive to the diverse experiences and cultures of the couples I work with, providing support and acceptance in navigating relationships which may challenge traditional societal norms.
I support couples in:
Improving communication and emotional expression
Managing conflict and recurring relational patterns
Rebuilding trust following ruptures or betrayals
Strengthening intimacy and connection
Navigating life transitions and family challenges
Exploring differences in needs, values, and expectations
Developing greater self-awareness and relational resilience
Exploring non-traditional relationship structures and healthy relationship boundaries
My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative while offering thoughtful challenge where needed. I am committed to helping couples build stronger, more authentic relationships and to supporting each partner in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and each other.
Areas of Practice: Couples Therapy, Relationship Difficulties, Communication Issues, Intimacy and Connection, Premarital Counselling, Infidelity Recovery, Attachment and Relational Patterns, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Anti-Oppressive Practice, and Relational Growth.
